A soundscape, created as part of the Witness Stand project for the Brighton Festival 2022. This was a very special – and unique – live appearance at the Chattri Memorial in Patcham, near Brighton. The Witness Stand project, a community of writers and sound artists with a connection to Brighton were commissioned by Australian artists Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey for the Brighton Festival 2022.
In the early Summer of 2020 as the world was gripped by the Corona virus pandemic and inspired by the selfless efforts of all those including NHS, social care, local authority, charity, transport etc staff who are helping keep us alive, safe and well, and attending the most vulnerable, my friend and musician colleague, Simon Murnau and I co-created a version of 'Summertime' as our tribute.
