Waytu

A wise person once said “Be the change you want to see”. Waytu is a way to do this. Waytu is also a portal for sharing ways to do this. Everything offered through Waytu is about letting our love lead, and putting everything else at its service.

I feel I have been blessed with so many gifts and privileges – some of them hard won, some of them effortlessly received. Waytu gives me an opportunity to let love lead in my work, rather than being taken by 100 other priorities.

Waytu contributes to a world governed by good will and trust by offering all services and products on a ‘pay what you can’ basis.

Being the change I want to see means to me consciously signing up to three aspirations:

•    to be of maximum benefit to all beings, including myself
•    to minimise the harm caused to beings, including myself
•    to continually grow in wisdom & compassion, and support others to do the same

Others who collaborate with me in Waytu subscribe to these aspirations too.

Together we offer 1-2-1 spaces, group and relationships encounters, opportunities, experiences, happenings, events, ceremonies, rituals, workshops which help you touch life’s deeper streams and be the change you want to see.

Waytu principles

Waytu is a vehicle for work which seeks to transform life in the direction of greater wisdom and compassion by challenging us to ‘live and lead by love’. This work may be of a variety of forms, but all forms share the following founding principles:

1.       To cause maximum benefit and minimum harm to beings – human, animal, plant or mineral etc.

2.       To enable us to cleanse our minds and grow in wisdom, compassion

3.       There is no ‘fee’* for work done under Waytu – the work proceeds by donation.

*Certain publications are charged for at a fixed fee, but services are offered by donation only.

Razia

As a perennial student and wayfarer, I have always sought to understand the condition of being human and to better it - for myself and others. I have learned at every turn from

  • theory, philosophy, science, experience, encounter, reflection, intuition and sensing

  • creativity and activism

  • the personal, social, work and relationship spheres

  • physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual wisdoms

I have tried to experience life’s ups and downs with as much awareness as I can muster, using the scaffolding of formal learning and ancient wisdoms to examine what is strong and sustains me, what is broken and in need of healing.

My professional life as a trainer, coach, consultant and facilitator specialising in equality, diversity and inclusion since 1996 has allowed me to work at all levels in organisations, from unfunded community groups to multi-national corporations.

As a voice coach, one spirit interfaith minister and Trager practitioner it has given me access to individuals, families and relationships at their most vulnerable (for example in confronting or working with death, pain, existential conflicts or illness) and their most buoyant (for example, in celebrating a wedding).

As a singer, songwriter and performer, it has enabled me to invite listeners and audiences into a sense of common attunement with universal human emotions, such as joy, hope, sorrow and devotion.

As a mother, carer, breadwinner and friend, I have sought to foster and strengthen my network of relationships and value the extra/ordinary labour of every day bringing forth life in its gritty material, emotional and spiritual realities.

All this work together has given me invaluable insight into both suffering and happiness, and into the impact of system and institutional dynamics upon human relationships and the journey of the ‘soul’.

My formal qualifications and training include:

  • two degrees (BA, MPhil) in Social Sciences

  • Advanced Diplomas in Counselling and Executive Coaching

  • training and practice as a Licensed Trager Practitioner (psycho-physical integration)

  • ordination as a One Spirit Interfaith Minister

  • certificate in Facilitation for Leaders (process oriented psychology).

In my quest to travel in the deeper streams, I have been sustained by spiritual teachings and practices which seem to make genuine sense of my experiences. My spiritual life is the greater container for everything. Through it I seek to follow where love and forgiveness lead. I am a daily practitioner of meditation.

In Waytu I work solo and in collaboration with others to put my gifts, privileges and learnings at your service. In so doing I hope to support positive transformation in the world and in myself.

 Jassy Denison

Jassy works with communities as a trainer, mediator and facilitator, focused on engaging creatively with conflict. Her current focus is on facilitating and developing white awareness and healing racism meetings and networks within the UK and Europe. She sees conflict as a potentially transforming and healing force, and her approach is based on self awareness, compassion, communication and dialogue.

In her own words:

"I grew up in West London though the 60s and 70s, a white, English woman of mixed class background. From a young age I became aware of a separation between myself and others, particularly in terms of class and race. Reconciling this separation became a central theme of my life; uncovering and understanding the role and the privileges society has given me and the ways I have internalised the racism of that society. My relationships across class, race and nationality have been places of deep challenge; places where I have been able to touch a sense of my own being and purpose.  My ongoing Buddhist mindfulness and co-counselling practices, as well as my work as trainer and facilitator have given me opportunities to recognise, hold and heal the loss, hurts and wrong perceptions within me, and discover what a 'white' identity can mean for me - my place and my part in the world."
